i've seen the look before...
the one that tells me
i ought to do something.
but still i held my place...
i sat and kept silent...
i looked past what's in front of me.

the thirst burns in me
and yet i clenched my teeth
to stop from crying out
with words that will shatter
all the illusions we both hold.

i looked to the left...
you looked to the right...
our eyes met briefly
but we struggled to hold that moment
because it was all that we're going to have.

i walked away...
you turned around...
you stopped to say something...
i hesitated...
no words came out
but we both understood.
this is what we've become
both hunters in the Savage Garden
and both unwilling to yield
to our own need for each other.

...tomorrow it will start all over again.

Vindication
in the midst of gripping despair
lost within an icy stare
overshadowed by a mystery
voiceless, but struggling to free
every word that was denied
yet failing again, and simply sighed

Synthesis
Herein lies the Event Horizon-
where all things parallel and paradoxical meet.
This is the fulcrum-
where the weight and counterweight is at a standstill.
This is where the thesis and antithesis joins.
Here is where the past and the present meet.

I lie on blades upon blades of rolling grass.

Clouds in different sizes and shapes go by

right down to this anxious face.
